What your Profound data means
If you have been running Profound, you have a record of how often your brand surfaced in answers on the engines your plan covers. That record is genuinely useful and it is not something first-party data can reconstruct — analytics cannot tell you about an answer nobody clicked.
What it does not tell you is whether any of that appearance produced a visit, a signup, or revenue. If the question that brought you here was some version of "what is this actually worth", that answer lives in your own analytics, not in a monitoring dashboard.
What carries over and what does not
Your prompt list carries over conceptually — the questions you decided matter for your category are still the right questions. Veribix takes prompts in the same form, and category prompts that contain no brand name run once against a shared corpus rather than being billed per tenant.
Historical answer data does not carry over. Nobody can import another vendor's stored answers and vouch for them, and Veribix will not present a figure whose provenance it cannot show. Your first-party history, by contrast, is already in your analytics property and your logs, so a Veribix funnel can start with real months behind it rather than from zero.
Running both
These are not mutually exclusive purchases, and it is worth saying so plainly rather than pretending otherwise. Broad answer coverage across many engines and deep first-party attribution answer different questions, and a team with budget for both will learn more than a team with either.
The case for stopping at one is budget. If you are paying for engine coverage and still cannot answer what AI traffic is worth to the business, the coverage is not the missing piece — the first-party measurement is. That is the trade to weigh, and it depends on which question your management is asking.
Before you decide
Check which engines your current plan actually covers before comparing anything. Profound's entry plan is ChatGPT only, so a visibility figure read from it describes one assistant, not the market. That distinction changes how a switch should be evaluated.
Then check whether anyone has asked you what AI search contributed in money. If nobody has, first-party attribution is solving a problem you do not yet have, and the honest advice is to wait until someone asks.
Questions
- Does Veribix track as many answer engines as Profound's Enterprise plan?
- No. Veribix polls a smaller set of assistants and puts its effort into first-party attribution instead. If the deciding factor is the number of engines polled, Profound's Enterprise plan covers more.
- Can Veribix tell me my revenue from AI traffic?
- It can tell you the revenue attributable to sessions your analytics recorded as arriving from an AI assistant, read from your own GA4 property. It cannot attribute sessions that arrived without a referrer, and it labels those separately rather than folding them in.
- Do I need to give Veribix access to my Google account?
- No. You add a Google Cloud service account as a Viewer on your own property. Access is read-only, we never receive your credentials, and removing the service account ends it immediately.
